The parkway extends through more than three distinctive natural environments. From the Spanish moss-covered trees of the Natchez area through the hills of Middle Tennessee, visitors can view and learn from the abundance of plants and wildlife. Young people can follow the example of explorer Meriwether Lewis, who is buried along the old Trace, to explore and catalogue the natural elements they discover.
